7 Most Common Autogate Problems & How to Fix Them
A broken autogate is really inconvenient. But not all problems need a technician. Some you can try to fix yourself before calling for help.

1. Motor Not Moving At All
Common causes:
- Blown fuse or tripped MCB
- Disconnected cable
- Burnt motor (overload)
What you can do:
- Check MCB/fuse in your home first
- Make sure motor indicator light is on (has power)
- If no power signs at all, likely a wiring issue — call a technician
2. Gate Stuck / Won't Open Fully
Common causes:
- Obstruction on track or gate path
- Limit switch disturbed
- Weak motor (worn bearings)
What you can do:
- Clean track from debris/stones
- Check for obstructing objects
- If still stuck after cleaning, motor may need servicing
3. Remote Not Working
Common causes:
- Dead remote battery
- Damaged remote (water/drop damage)
- Receiver board issue
What you can do:
- Replace remote battery (CR2032 or 23A)
- Try another remote if available
- If all remotes fail, it's a receiver board issue
4. Noisy Autogate Operation
Common causes:
- Lack of lubrication on hinges/gears
- Worn bearings
- Loose gear rack (sliding gate)
What you can do:
- Apply lubricant to hinges
- If noise comes from motor, don't ignore — it can get worse
5. Autogate Opens/Closes By Itself
Common causes:
- Disturbed sensor (dirty/damaged)
- Signal interference from neighbors
- Control board issue
